Talking of Shawnee, they were nomads who moving from one place to another. After they moved across many areas in Northeast and Southeast. Their economic practice was majorly hunting and farming confirming that they were in search of farming land and wild animals to hunt. In addition to that, these tribes copied the dressing code of Europeans as they were moving from one place to the next. They had some famous chiefs such as chief Blue Jacket, Cornstalk and Tecumseh.
This tribe migrated to America from their original homeland which was a place known as Tennessee around Cumberland river. In this region they adopted a lifestyle that were best suited to the climate, geographical set up and the natural resources that were available in those particular regions. As a result of their semi-nomadic lives some of them decide to interact and join the native Indian culture. Apart from that other group was also made to a nation known as Cherokee Shawnee as a result of endless civic war in America. They lived in different places depending with their major economic practices. Like we had the nomadic Shawnee who lived in birchbark houses which were majorly found in the Woodland areas.
These houses were in the shape of a cone with the arched roofs which were made of wooden frames. This wooden frame was covered with buffalo hides being that it was a major resource in that area. The house was not too big, they were 8-10 feet tall and 10-15 feet wide.
The native language that the Shawnee were speaking was known as Algonquian. They were also eating different food substances depending with the resources found in the area. There is one group that primarily depended on meat from buffalo, elk, deer and wild turkey which they eating with some roots and vegetables. Others who were living in the woodlands were eating fish, squirrel, deer, raccoon, bear and beaver which was supplemented with corn maize, pumpkin, squash and beans. The majority of people who inhabited Southeast part were majorly eating rabbits, wild hogs, turkeys, eagles which were supplemented with corn, beans, dried fruits, pumpkins and nuts.
When it comes to weapons they were using bows, arrows, clubs, hatchet, axes, spears, lenses and knives and rifles. With these weapons they were able to protect themselves, do hunting and some they were using in the farm. Being that they were dressing like Europeans but they had different types of cloths depending with the season. Like in warm climate they were putting breach cloths and fringed tunics, shirts and leggings during cold rainy climate.
